The Living History Event NH
Come to where history comes alive in historic Hillsborough, New Hampshire for the 8th annual Living History Event. Try your hand at panning for gold, soap making, candle dipping and so much more! Make butter, ice cream, press cider, and sample maple syrup. Feast on the mouth-watering traditional foods, such as; Grilled Chicken, Pulled Pork, Plowman's lunch and delicious pastries. Join us for a delightful interactive living history experience and take part in the unique history of the New England area. Venture on a fantastic trip throughout Hillsborough and discover the historic villages, Hillsborough Heritage Museum, including the Manahan-Phelps-McCulloch Photos and DAR collection. Take a tour of the enter Cemetery and see where President Pierce's parents are buried on the 2nd New Hampshire Turnpike. Venture up to the Jones Road site to watch the battle reenactments of the Civil War battle in the Woods between the French and Indian. View scenic drives, take a horse-drawn wagon ride, or a self-guided stroll around the Old Historic Center. Also offered are trolley tours of the wonderful stone arch bridges that make Hillsborough a historical treasure. Free admission to all Hillsborough, Deering, Windsor, Washington and Henniker public, private and home-schooled students with school or parent ID.Tickets are as follows: Two days for-Adults ~$10.00, Seniors (65+) ~ $8.00, Children (6-17) ~ $5.00, Children 5 and under are free.
